Playing Opportunities
At WHSC we have something for everyone — whether you're just picking up the sport or you've been playing your whole life. Here's a breakdown of everything we offer:
Open Practices | CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
Every week we hold a structured open practice for current members and prospective players. All skill levels welcome — if you're curious about WHSC this is the best place to start.
Your first practice is always free. After that, drop-ins are $10 per practice or you can become a full member for $100/year. Sign up for open practices here!
Check our calendar page or follow @westhollywoodsoccerclub on Instagram to confirm practice is on before heading out — occasionally open practice is replaced by internal league seasons.
WHSC Internal Club League | Next Session: End of July
Twice a year we run a small-sided internal league exclusively for WHSC members. Teams are determined by draft, games are low-pressure, and it's one of the best ways to meet people across the club.

Los Angeles Municipal League | Competitive | Currently in season
Our most competitive league offering. We currently field:
Eclipse & Fusion — all-gender 11v11 teams, Sunday afternoons
Suns — all-gender 7v7 team, Thursday nights
Rockets & Comets — competitive women's/non-binary 11v11 teams, Saturday mornings
Please note that while our all-gender teams are inclusive of all LGBTQ+ members, the LA Muni league itself is classified as a "Men's" league and you will be playing against predominantly cisgender male teams. We want you to feel informed and comfortable before committing to a roster.
Seasons run 12-14 weeks in fall (late Aug–Nov) and spring (late March–July). Rosters are selected at the discretion of captains and the WHSC Board. Tryouts are held before each season — you must attend a minimum number of tryouts to qualify and must be a dues-paying member in good standing.
Glendale League | Competitive | Currently in season
We field a very competitive women's/non-binary 7v7 team, the Rockets, in the Monday evening Glendale league. Seasons run 8-10 weeks with new sessions starting every few months throughout the year.
Santa Monica League | Competitive | Currently on hold
We field a 7v7 all-gender team in the competitive divisions of the Santa Monica league. Games are played at Airport Park on weeknights. We're looking to expand our offerings here in the coming season — stay tuned.
OutLoud Sports | Recreational | Currently in season
A great option for players looking for something more casual and social. We field an all-gender team, the Protons, and a women's/non-binary team, the Cosmos, in this small-sided LGBTQ+ league — a welcoming environment to play more soccer and meet new friends in the LA queer community.
Tournaments | CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
We send one to two teams to LGBTQ+ tournaments hosted by peer organizations across the US and world throughout the year. Tournament rosters are open to all active WHSC members, selected based on interest and at the discretion of captains and the WHSC Board.
WHSC members also receive discounted rates for our own hosted tournaments. All tournament opportunities are advertised via the newsletter and @westhollywoodsoccerclub on Instagram.
