We will capture availability to participate in the tournament on the tryouts intake form. Players who are not interested in attending the tournament will not be disqualified from rosters but Captains will be considering that in the make up of their league rosters for the Spring season.

Info on Gay Games & WHSC’s participation/procedures can be found here:

If you are interested in trying out, please read below for important details & be sure to fill out our intake form here BEFORE arriving for tryouts!

What do I need to know?

Tryouts are open to club members, returning players and new players, but we will NOT BE HOLDING PRACTICES DURING TRYOUTS!

Please only attend tryouts if you are a competitive player intending to try out for one of our competitive teams. ***If you have never played before or are a beginner, you will be directed to join Open Practices instead (reference our calendar here for a schedule).

These tryouts will be a mix of small sided and full field play. Tryouts are free and we recommend that players try to attend as many tryouts as possible. Please reference the level of play section below and fill out the required form here before attending (this form only needs to be filled out once, it does not need to be filled out before every tryout).

Spring Tryouts Schedule:

  • Women’s/Non-Binary (2 tryouts):

    • Tue. 2/3, 8-10PM, Fairfax High School (7850 Melrose Ave)

    • Sun. 2/8, 9AM-11AM, Location TBA

  • Men’s/All Gender (2 tryouts):

    • Sun. 2/8, 11AM-1PM, Location TBA

    • Tue. 2/10, 8-10PM, Fairfax High School (7850 Melrose Ave)

  • Rosters will be announced by Fri. 2/20, via email/posted on our website

  • Deadline to accept a roster spot will be Sun. 2/22 (no exceptions, if you do not respond in time, your spot will be filled with someone else)

  • Deadline to pay club dues & league fees will be Mon. 3/2

    • Once players accept a spot, they will receive venmo requests from @westhollywoodsoccerclub for club dues (if not already paid for 2026) & league fees (both MUST BE PAID by Fri. 3/2 to lock in your spot)

    • Failure to pay dues or league fees will result in immediate removal from the team/club.

  • Pre-season scrimmages TBD

Important Reminders:

To be considered for a roster spot, you must attend at least 1 tryout. We recommend attending 2 tryouts and encourage players to indicate interest in multiple teams if they are unsure of the best fit for them. This gives captains a better opportunity to watch and evaluate your play and consider players across all our available playing opportunities.

If you are a returning player who can not attend tryouts, it is at the discretion of the captains if you can still be considered for a spot on the team. We know extenuating circumstances come up, we ask that you are proactive in communicating those to captains BEFORE tryouts begin (be sure to indicate on your tryout form), so that we can make an effort to evaluate your play at a different opportunity. Please reach out to contact@wehosc.org and we will help direct you to the captains.

There are no exceptions for new players. If you are new to the club you must attend at least 1 tryout to be placed on a roster.

***All players joining a roster will be required to pay yearly club dues for 2026 ($100) as well as pay additional league fees (~$75-80). Failure to pay these fees will result in immediate removal from the roster/club.

The club is committed to offering scholarships for players seeking support. Click here to learn more and to apply.

For more information please reach out to us at contact@wehosc.org.

These will not require a tryout and any player who does not make one of the rosters above or is a dues paying member in good standing will be considered for a spot with our small-sided teams.

Players will be rostered on rec teams based on the appropriate skill level. This will be done at the discretion of the Director for Recreational & the Captains to ensure the safety/maximum enjoyment of all involved. For new members to the club we ask you to kindly attend practice regularly for three months before asking to be placed on a team.

What is expected of a player to qualify for a roster?

  • Attend tryouts (must attend 1, recommended players attend 2)

  • Demonstrate the level of playing ability that is needed to be competitive on the team you are trying out for.

    • For more information, please see the Level of Play section above.

  • Commit to attend at least 7 out of 10 regular season games, providing your captains with advance notice if you will be out. It is vital for our competitive program that players are committed and show up for their teams regularly, that is the only way to build good momentum throughout the season and set our teams up for success.

    • If you cannot commit to 7 games for the season, it is up to you to communicate with your captains and discuss alternative arrangements (i.e. acting as a sub or reserve player for the season).

    • All players are expected to communicate with captains about game attendance each week, confirming at least 3 days before game day if you are available for the coming game.

      • Any no shows will be treated as UNEXCUSED and grounds for immediate removal from the roster (at the discretion of the captains).

      • If you miss more than 3 games, captains will have the ability to remove you from the roster for the current season and your ability to be rostered going forward may be limited.

    • Please review the tentative game dates below in advance of tryouts:
